If you’re like me, you have a to do list that might be a mile long and some of those things that you want to do, you might have been putting off. It’s time to change why you procrastinate.
Today I wanted to talk about procrastination and why you’re NOT achieving your goals. There are four reasons that this can happen.
You lack focus.
This was a biggie for me. At one point in my life, I was working on so many projects while trying to balance work and home, that I was making myself miserable. It was awful! Little did I know that if I had just picked out in my life what was making me happy, what I enjoyed doing and by setting boundaries, I would have actually achieved so much more that what I had already.

Today, I encourage you to take a look at your goal list for the year and assign a target date for when you want to accomplish them. If you don’t have deadlines in place, this might be why you procrastinate.
Ask yourself if these things are that that you truly want or not and then, take begin to take ACTION. Those steps that you’re taking on something that you want to do will add up and help you reach your goal.
You’re lacking energy.
Okay, momma. It’s confession time. Are you taking time for you? Are you resting or practicing self care? If not, it’s time to make time for you. Make sure you’re resting, relaxing, eating healthy foods and spending some time each day to move your body. Promise me that you’ll do this. This can often be another reason of why you procrastinate.
You’re a perfectionist.
Is this you? Does everything has to be in order before you begin. You need to know the exact steps, who you’re working with, etc. and you have to have everything in order before you begin. You feel that without those things in place, that it’s not the time to start working on on whatever it is you should be that you just keep putting things off.
While, I totally get that and how uncomfortable that can feel, remember that even imperfect progress is better than no progress at all. So start that workout program, work at home job or write the book you’ve held in your heart. The more you do of something, the better you’ll get at it.
I used to ask myself questions like….What will my family think? What about my friends? What if I fail? All totally legit questions and I want you to know that it’s normal to feel this way. However, I want you to begin to trust yourself. I want you to get comfortable with being uncomfortable and to do things each day that you need to do that it becomes easier and easier. This is what I had to do to get to where I am and I’m so thankful that my mentor challenged me to do this because while I still get scared sometimes, I know that it’s just a matter of kicking fear to the curb and taking action that will propel me forward into creating the life I have and what I want to have as I get older.
So there ya have it. Four reasons why you procrastinate. Does anything sound familiar? What are you choosing to change today? I would love to hear back on what it was and if I can help. This is going to be a BIG year for us and I can’t wait to celebrate all of your accomplishments together.
Let’s DO this!
